Volunteering - Important Questions

Here are some of the places to volunteer in London:

Boy Scouts of Canada Are you "outdoorsy"? Do you get along well with younger people? Want to help create a promising future for younger people, maybe even your own children? Become a leader in Scouting! Scouting covers many ages, from Beavers (5-7) to Rovers (18-26). If you like older young adults, become a Venturer (15-18) or Rover advisor. If you enjoy working with young people, try becoming a Cub or Beaver leader.

ChildReach programs are enhanced by the many community volunteers and students that assist us during the year. Childreach continues to provide job training and work experience opportunities for students at the Secondary School level as well as Family Studies Co-Op students, Katimavik placements, and post-secondary Early Childhood Education students.

C N I B Library Volunteer opportunities are available in a number of departments within the C N I B Library including recording studio, braille and e-text production, tactile, and circulation. It is with the generous effort of more than 500 volunteers that our services and programs are possible.

Community Living London Volunteers are the heart of Community Living London. They make a huge difference in supporting people with developmental disabilities to reach their full potential.  Volunteers like John, a One-to-One Friend with Carl, say that spending time together is the high point of their week.

Epilepsy Support Centre provides a full range of support services for those with epilepsy, and those interested in the disorder. The social, economic and psychological problems faced every day by those with epilepsy are just beginning to be recognized by the professional communities. We need your support to ensure a strong and enduring response to the personal requirements, needs and interests of those with epilepsy. You can help by becoming a volunteer or member of Epilepsy Support Centre. Please contact us at 519-433-4073

Glen Cairn Community Resource Centre The very essence of volunteering is clearly evident at the Centre. Many of our neighbours help out by answering phones, helping with programs, visiting isolated people in our community....the list goes on! The Centre wouldn't exist if not for neighbourhood volunteers who share their time and talents to help make our community a better place!

Hospice of London needs volunteers a few hours each month to visit people facing life threatening illness.

ITAT (Inclusion Through Access To Technology), a program utilizing volunteer instructors and donated equipment to teach basic computer skills to participants in their own homes.

London Regional Cancer Centre Are you interested in helping patients and families find information about their cancer?

London YMCA - YWCA is a charitable, values-based, mission-driven organization committed to providing quality programs and services to people of all ages, abilities and backgrounds to help them grow in spirit, mind and body.

Meals On Wheels London is a non-profit, charitable organization that supports and promotes individuals in their efforts to maintain independence and quality of life in their homes. The organization offers many services to ill, frail, elderly and mentally or physically challenged Londoners. Services such as meals on wheels, cool cuisine, volunteer visiting and transportation help people in the community navigate the road of independence.

Middlesex-London Health Unit Volunteer opportunities exist at the Middlesex-London Health Unit to enhance and complement the work performed by health unit staff. The volunteer experience that we offer provides members of the community with an opportunity to receive training, gain new skills and the ability to participate in the delivery of a variety of programs.

Mission Services Volunteer to offer Hope and Help! Do you have 2 hours to spare? Maybe four hours a month? One day a month? YOU CAN make a difference in so many ways!
